The last few days have been a busy and exciting time for Iemas in Secunda. Friday saw the hosting of a Wellness Day at the Secunda regional office which serviced all interested members from a holistic financial health perspective in the community. Saturday saw a very early start to the gathering of athletes for the annual PwC Kosmos 3-in-1 Comrades qualifier in Secunda. As Secunda’s caring partner, Iemas was ready and available for a weekend of goal setting and achieving.
Wellness Day – a buzz of activity
The Secunda regional office hosted their financial health workshop at their premises on Friday, 10 March 2017 from 09:00 to 15:00. The workshop aimed at assisting Iemas members in knowing their basic fiscal status by offering the following services: credit profile checks, how to manage credit profiles, life insurance cover audits, current value and safety of vehicles and assistance with product queries and applications.
Many interested members visited Iemas throughout the day and a hive of activity ensued around the office and various exhibitors. Tri-Sec Autohaus VW, Audi Centre Trichardt, NTT Nissan, Tiger Wheel & Tyre, Sanlam, Liberty and AVBOB were also available onsite to assist members with their relevant queries.
Iemas continues to partner with Secunda and surrounding communities by educating and assisting members with their financial needs and profiles. Regular financial wellness days are held at employer groups, who have signed agreements with Iemas, to enhance members’ holistic financial wellbeing.
Iemas at the PwC Kosmos 3-in-1 marathon
At 6am on Saturday, 11 March 2017, athletes braced the cold as the starting pistol sounded, signifying the start of the annual 25th PwC Kosmos 3-in-1 marathon. The PwC Kosmos 3-in-1 marathon is a comrades qualifying event and saw Craig Cynkin crossing the finishing line with a time of 2 hours, 35 minutes and 27 seconds. The women’s winner, Yolande Maclean, was short at his heels finishing with a time of 2 hours, 56 minutes and 01 seconds.
For the 17th consecutive year, the water point provided by Iemas was ready and waiting at the halfway mark on the corner of the N17 and Ahmed Kathrada Drive. The Iemas branded halfway water point provided exhausted athletes with the much needed energy and hydration required to complete the gruelling race ahead. As Iemas cares about the community, our representatives were on hand to assist in the cleaning up after this successful event.
A heartfelt note of gratitude to Luger Security for keeping a watchful eye on the Iemas water point as well as to Sasol Secunda Junxion fuelling station for sponsoring the much needed ice.
As a constant in the Secunda community, Iemas endeavours to work with you as your caring partner towards your financial wellbeing.
